The annual Villa-Lobos International Chamber Music Festival, an event conceived by cellist Lars Hoefs in collaboration with UCR Professor Paulo C. Chagas, celebrates its 5th edition with a special program of Contemporary Spiritual Music from Brazil. Lars Hoefs and pianist Victor Asuncion will perform two world premieres by Paulo C. Chagas and Marco Padilha, along with works by Chagas, Padilha and Almeida Prado (1943-2010).

Marco Padilha: Portrait II "Words of Affliction" – cello and piano (world premiere)
Paulo C. Chagas: Pomona, über-reif [Pomona, overripe] – cello and piano (world premiere)
