UCR Arts is committed to presenting exhibitions, performances, lectures, and film screenings that highlight faculty and student accomplishments as part of its curated programming. UCR Arts also offers programs initiated by faculty and students that bring distinguished artists to UCR. UCR Arts supports faculty and students by providing performance and exhibition space, technical expertise, publicity, and grant application support. All these UCR Arts programs help inform the Riverside and Southern California audience about significant artistic research in the twenty departments that comprise the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. Other UCR colleges and departments have also been featured at UCR Arts.
UCR Arts reviews proposals from faculty and students on an ongoing basis. By proposing ideas sooner, UCR Arts can give you better access for your events, advertise those events more effectively, and deliver a more diverse programming schedule for students and the community.
Include your idea for the event, any details you may have, and various dates that you would like to hold the event. Even if your event is still in the idea stage, let us know! Please note that October, April, and May tend to be the months that are the most requested.
In general, UCR Arts does not charge for use of the facility to faculty and students, as we consider the events to be collaborations on research, and as long as they are free and open to the public. However, there may be some small charges, such as for outside security, and large-scale events, such as conferences, may be charged. Events that are closed to the public are usually considered a facility rental. Fees that do apply are very reasonable.
Please note that proposals are considered in the context of the UCR Arts' artistic vision and its ongoing curated programs.
