Three Times
Directed by: Hsiao-hsien Hou
120 minutes | Unrated
Free Film Screening | Friday, February 4, 2011, 7pm - 9pm |
Hou Hsiao-hsien delivers one of the most rapturously beautiful and romantic movies of the year. Told as three love stories, each set in a different era -- a 1966 pool hall, a 1911 brothel and present day Taipei. The film stars the same actors in all three sections -- Shu Qi and Chang Chen.
"Unlike films that regard the present like some eternal now, without either a past or a future, and unlike those who approach history like reverential museum visitors, Three Times never loses sight of where - or when - we are." - Manohla Dargis, New York Times
This free screening of Three Times is made possible by the Riverside Lunar Festival in cooperation with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles.
