Monsieur Ibrahim

Directed by: Francois Dupeyron

94 minutes | R

Saturday, January 22, 2011, 7pm - 9pm

Francois Dupeyron's film Monsieur Ibrahim brings 1960s Paris to life with the story of a Jewish teenage orphan, Momo, who befriends an elderly Turkish shopkeeper Ibrahim. Their bond develops into a father/son type relationship as Ibrahim ignores their religious and cultural differences to provide the wisdom and support Momo was never offered.

"Tender but never sappy, Monsieur Ibrahim brings two people of vastly different age and background together in ways that are touching, and telling." - Steven Rea, Philadelphia Inquirer

"Contrary to expectation, it's neither a movie about religion nor the coming together of enemies. What it is, at heart, is a movie about love." - Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post
