Culver has expanded it public screenings with a film series showcasing Inland Empire filmmakers on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM. The filmmakers will be present to discuss their projects. Admission is $5.00.
Other special screenings, some with free admission, will also be added occasionally on week nights.
An evening of video screening of recent dance work by Indigenous choreographers from North America and Aotearoa (New Zealand). Following the screenings, choreographers Rulan Tangen, Jack Gray (in person) and Tanya Lukin Linklater (via Skype) will discuss their work and the field of contemporary Indigenous choreography in a Q&A moderated by UC Riverside dance professor Jacqueline Shea Murphy. Includes: Site Sight, In Memoriam, Gwi Cuumillatstun, Glimpses of Dancing Earth, and Whare Tapere. Jacqueline Shea Murphy teaches courses in dance history and theory in UCR's Dance department. Her areas of specialization include U.S. dance history, dance theory, and Native American dance studies.
