Che Guevara: rivoluzionario e icona
La Triennale di Milano
California Museum of Photography
June 26 - September 16, 2007
Currently on tour in La Triennale di Milano, Milan, Italy the exhibition focuses on the portrait of Ernesto "Che" Guevara, Guerrillo Heroico, photographed by Alberto Díaz Korda on March 5, 1960, is considered to be the most reproduced image in the history of photography. It has come to symbolize antiestablishment thought and action. Its political power has maintained its currency from 1968 to the present conflicts in the Middle East. It has reverberated from the cold war to our postcolonial reality. It is an image which has inspired sophisticated art yet its iconic silhouette is immediately recognizable.
