Long Night Of Arts & Innovation

Thursday, October 12, 2017, 5pm

Free Admission.

The City of Riverside's Long Night of Arts and Innovation will showcase the best of what makes Riverside so exceptional with individual exhibits, presentations, demonstrations and artistic performances in downtown venues. As one of the City's signature events, there will be participation from Riverside's universities, businesses and performing and visual arts community. All are designed to entertain, inform and attract participants to the arts and sciences.

During the City of Riverside’s Long Night of Arts & Innovation, UCR ARTSblock will offer hourly tours, beginning at 5:00 PM in English, Spanish and American Sign Language of the new exhibition Mundos Alternos: Art and Science Fiction in the Americas. The exhibition, which is part of the Getty’s Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, brings together works by over thirty contemporary artists and collectives from across the Americas who use science fiction to imagine new realities and alternate worlds.

Additionally, UCR ARTSblock in collaboration with UCR’s Department of Dance, will present Works in Progress in the dance studios on the second floor of the Culver Center of the Arts.

Support has been provided by UCR College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS) and the City of Riverside.
