Culver Center of the Arts

Free Admission

Undergraduate students from UCR's English Department, under the direction of Assistant Professor Robb Hernández, will give presentations about Chicano avant-gardism through their own reenactments and reembodiments of experimental performance actions germinating in Post-1960's East Los Angeles. Presentations will examine different facets of Chicano avant-garde practice ranging from the confrontal to the futuristic and from the nauseating to the beautiful.

Support has been provided by UCR College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS) and the City of Riverside
